Description: This thing is a must have, even if you are not interested in reconditioning. It is very handy for different purposes, whether you are professional electrician or just decided to repair a simple electrical appliance.
We use a multimeter to check the battery, if it needs to be reconditioned, also the device is used during the restoration to raise the level voltage up to the number we need.
How to choose: Before purchasing, check its accuracy, the measuring error of the good one varies from 0,025 to 3 percent.
Replacement: Simple tester which is not so functional, but still works

Description: A resistor limits or regulates the flow of electrical current in an electronic circuit. Resistors can also be used to provide a specific voltage for an active device such as a transistor.

The thing is when we restore a cell phone battery, we connect it directly to a charger, while when it is charged inside a mobile phone the current goes through the controller. So we need a resistor to limit a voltage, otherwise we would damage the battery giving it too much current.
How to choose: Before purchasing, check the resistance – in our case it should not be more than 300 Ohm.

Description: In our case any charger would work. The point is that we use the charger in pair with a resistor which limits the voltage, so you don’t have to be scared that the charger would damage your battery.

How to choose: If you consider buying a new one, it’s better to have a universal one, because you will be able to use it with different devices after.

Description: We use copper for repairing a laptop battery for soldering autobulbs for voltage check. This task is quite simple and to perform it we don’t need the best model on the market. You can even buy a USB powered model, especially if you have a plug adapter with an USB port.
How to choose: To work with a copper, you need resin colophony and a solder bath. So I think the best option for you is buying a set containing all you may need.
Replacement: There are many ways to replace a copper. You can try a very simple construction consisting of a lighter and a paperclip.

Description: Batteries indicate whether the battery element has charge or not.
How to choose: Capacity of a battery should not be higher than 21 W.
Replacement: Any lamp of this capacity would be fine. Generally the capacity of lamps used in light fixtures starts from 35 W. That is why it is more convenient to use autobulbs.

Cyanoacrylate adhesive

Description: Without resin you won’t be able to seal the AA battery back after reconditioning. Most of resins are epoxy based and used for cracks sealing, although they can be suitable for our task as well.
How to choose: It can be used with batteries, contact with alkaline should be possible .
Replacement: Many kinds of industrial clay would work for this purpose, although almost all of them have epoxy as an active ingredient.
